My intro to design was literally at the knees of my Mother and Grandmother. They dragged my tiny, unwilling, body furniture (and clothes) shopping into Boston every weekend of my young life (bribing me to behave). Those ladies were furniture-a-holics and their homes were completely different from each others. Those genes live on in me; they taught me style and quality by example. By 9 years old I was pretty into it and was allowed to select all the materials for my bedroom – furniture, wall color, bedding – the works. It was successful enough to be given the same freedom whenever a new home, or my maturing, required an update. For awhile I was more interested in art, which became my major in college. Fast forward to marriage and raising a family – once my husband and I accomplished that, I worked briefly for an architectural firm here in Portland, then in 1991 joined the Paul Schatz team, went back to school, and received my degree in interior design.
On my off hours my passions are spending time with my granddaughter Kyra, shopping, cooking, travel and golf. Much inspiration comes from visiting other countries and cultures.
What I feel I bring to the design table is honesty. Everything I do is client based. I’m a consumer too, and I’ll treat you the way I like to be treated when I shop. There are possibilities and solutions for just about any situation you bring to the table. I can suggest what works, and what doesn’t, and why, so that you can make a confident, educated decision. I never impose my personal style on any client – that’s what being a professional is all about. I am equipped to fulfill your style or even help you find your style.
