Who We Are

Since 1919, we’ve been committed to providing excellent customer service, the best in home furnishings, and dedicated design services. It all began when our grandfather, Paul Schatz Sr. sold used furniture by day and delivered it in the evenings. By 1939, he’d built a store and acquired some of the most prestigious furniture lines in the world.

Nearly 100 years and four generations later, the legacy continues. We learned the business from our father, Paul Schatz Jr. and still own and operate Paul Schatz Furniture showrooms throughout Oregon with the help of Paul Sr.’s great-granddaughter, McKenzie.

Along with our families, we take great pride in offering furniture lines known for their integrity and style. We’re the largest retailer of Stickley Furniture in the Pacific Northwest. Our showrooms also feature noted lines such as Taylor King, Hooker, Sherrill, and Lexington, among many more.

We recognize and honor what a major event purchasing new furnishings can be. We know every time you enter your room you will be reminded of us and the work we have done for you. We just couldn’t live with ourselves if that feeling was anything less than joy.

We believe in Style

Our designers, manager, and owners travel to trade shows, visit manufacturers, and watch and research emerging trends. We know styles popular in fashion, jewelry, and entertainment will soon be popular in furniture as well and we stock our showroom with furnishings coordinating with those trends. We also select collections from furniture lines reflecting the quintessential Pacific Northwest style. From Traditional to Contemporary, Mission to Mid-Century, and Industrial to Arts and Crafts; we’ve got you covered.

When you enter our showroom, a designer will greet you – providing answers and suggestions, but never pressure. Our designers have extensive resources in which to provide you with assistance. They take pride in building relationships with clients – getting to know you, your needs, your tastes, and your spending plan in order to provide you with the best piece(s) for your space. You’ll receive the same treatment whether you’re searching for an accent lamp or a complete bedroom set.

We take pride in our showrooms and design centers. They’re creative environments in which to provide clients a soothing, inspirational experience. We carefully select unique products on the forefront of design. But, we also showcase furniture from companies known for their quality and integrity. Our goal is to provide you with furnishings that will last – not just furniture, but heirlooms.

We want to ensure your purchase fits the space and your tastes, perfectly. Our skilled design team is here to help with floor plans, fabric choices, color pallets, artwork and other accent pieces, whatever you need. We wish to provide you with a space you’ll love to live in.

Our owners are on-site and our manager is on the showroom floor everyday. We will do everything we can to ensure your experience is painless and your purchase reaches your door in immaculate condition. We’ve been a local, family-owned business for nearly 100 years and we know our next 100 years depends on going beyond simply selling furniture.

Our Guarantee

We have been around for four generations because we always try to put our customers first. That is why we offer a Price Match Guarantee. If you find a lower price for an identical item at a local competitor’s store, we will match the price. In addition, should you get your furnishing(s) home and find another store selling the same item for less, we will refund the difference for up to 30 days after delivery or pick-up (Stores located out of our trade area and online ads are excluded).

Paul Schatz is looking for goal-oriented and enthusiastic designers to join our incredible and dedicated Design Team.
